House INFO

We provide

  • King master made up & linen to make up other beds (1st bedroom King bed, 2nd bedroom 2 x King Singles, 3rd bedroom 2 x King Singles)
  • Basic panty and bathroom supplies
  • Towels, bathmat, hand towel and tea towels
  • Coffee machine and pods
  • Tank water for drinking (far right tap) and bore water is also great for showers, brushing teeth etc.
  • Wi-Fi (choose 5G and password sunshine) and Smart TV 
  • Outdoor fire pit and extendable sticks in bottom drawer – bring marshmallows, kindling, wood and firelighters from Melbourne
  • Air conditioning/heating in kitchen/lounge and fans in bedrooms
  • Boogie boards in 2nd bedroom (bring wet suits)
  • Tennis racquets and balls in box on front porch (bring cash for court hire and key deposit from General Store)
  • Cricket set for beach, basketball 
  • Outdoor Weber BBQ and Patio 
  • Washing machine, iron, hair dryer, washing powder and clothesline, clothes horse for towels
  • Fully fenced front and back yard, spare dog bowels, leads and bags (bring bed)

Key Safe

Key Safe – is on pole (left one) at front door and code is 1203. Use key for front door and leave key in safe when out of house.

Parking

Parking – we normally park our car outside of the front gate.
We have a security camera outside the property that only sees a car or person entering the driveway.

WiFi

WiFi - select 978 5G option and password sunshine

Checkout

Checkout – please place rubbish in outdoor bins and put on road, make sure aircon and lights turned off. Make sure BBQ gas turned off. Check-out time is 10.30am but contact Sonia if wish to check-out later.

Water cuts out

Water cuts out - Go to front garden to the box and reach in and turn the switch off and then on again to get pump going again. Happens due to power going out for a couple of seconds.

Drinking

Drinking water is far right tap on sink which is filtered tank water.

Bore water

Bore water is used for showers, cooking and garden. Fine for brushing teeth too.

Power Outage

Power Outage – If you experience a power outage please text Sonia so she can check the time that power will be back on.

Septic tank

Septic tank- whole town is on septic tank so can only put toilet paper in toilet. Use the bin provided for other items.

Linen/Supplies

If you need any additional linen, towels, toiletries of pantry items please go into second bedroom and open the two cupboards (combination 131 on padlocks).

TV

TV - use the remote to turn TV on and press home button, it takes a few seconds to load. Choose TV or Netflix. Or click on Netflix on remote. If the sound is not on make sure the sound bar is on.

Stereo

Stereo - Turn on is at back of speakers (closest to window) and turn on blue tooth on phone. Select Living room speaker. Make sure disconnect if someone else wants to connect. Press the plus button underneath the little Yamaha box if doesn’t shown up.

Split system

Split system. If finding it not hot or cold enough. Open the panel and click mode and make sure it’s either on hot or cold. And close panel. Can press Power to surge.

Fans

Fans - remote for fans is in living room and bedrooms. Any trouble turning on light in bedroom check the power switch is on. And then you can use remote.

BBQ

BBQ - Weber please clean after use and turnoff gas off at bottle.

Outdoor fire pit

Outdoor fire pit - Please check the CFA website to make sure not a fire ban. Wood/Kindling/ Firelighters can be bought at General Store.

SANDY POINT

  • General Store opens until 6pm. Often fresh bread at front of store but can sell out before 10am. Also has a bottle shop with some local wines, beers, spirits. The takeaway restaurant is permanently closed.
  • Patrolled Beach – We are 2 minute walk to surf beach (opposite General Store). Beach is patrolled during summer on weekends and peak periods every day. Swim between the flags. Outside of patrol times swim/surf with others. Unless it is very hot you normally wear a wetsuit to swim or surf as water is cold.
  • Surf Club - As you walk to the beach check to see if a sign at entrance to surf club. Volunteers open up the bar so you can go as a guest and enjoy a drink and sometimes food and music.
  • Electric Community Bus - See details on fridge for the sandy point bus if want to book or google search Sandy Point eBus. It’s volunteer so just a small donation. They want bookings so please use.
  • Tennis courts need to book at General Store. Need to have cash (no ATM in Sandy Point). $10 court and $10 key deposit. We supply tennis racquets and balls. Can get cash out at ATMs in Foster.
  • Mini golf is good fun and next to General Store and takes card payment. It also sells reasonable priced wet suits around $80 for adult.
  • Golf – book a round, clubs and golf cart at Foster Golf Court. You can ring to book.
  • Boogie Boards/Surfing – a local legend Bones offer surfing lessons for adults or kids. See to the right of the General Store. We supply boogie boards and cricket set for beach.
  • Dogs – Ned Neales part of beach is off lead area to the right. From 1 Dec dogs are not allowed on the other parts of the patrolled beach between 9am-6pm. On lead other times. Contact Foster vet (24 hour service) for dog care. Do not let dogs off lead into bushes due to risk of snake bite.
  • Shallow Inlet great for sunset and fishing. Don’t let car get stuck in high tide.
  • Walks - Look up All Trails for the Waratah Beach and Roy Henderson trail loop 6km walk. Take sunglasses, hat, water, jumper and aero guard. (March flies cause a painful, itchy, red welt but are harmless unless allergic)

NEIGHBOURING TOWNS

  • Fish Creek has a great pub for dinner (book ahead online!!) or lunch on a cold day. Fish Creek also has a nice café and craft shop. 20 mins Sandy Point.
  • Leongatha – big town on the way to Sandy Point. People often stock up at Aldi there on the way.
  • Meeniyan - If passing through on the weekend can pre order a pizza at Trulli restaurant online to eat once arrive at Sandy Point or stop in at restaurant.
  • Waratah Hills Vineyard nice for lunch outdoors Thur-Sun. Peak times need to book a table. 20 mins from Sandy Point.
  • Foster is great for supermarket, seafood, butcher, bakery. Also Op shop and vintage shop. 20 mins from Sandy Point.
  • Loch is a lovely town for cafes/vintage shops on way up or home. Everything shuts by 2 or 3pm.
  • Wilson’s Prom - our favourite walk is the Mount Bishop/Lilly Pilly circuit which is 10km circuit. Drop toilet at car park. Mt Oberon is also a great walk at 6km. Café at Tidal River. Squeaky Beach has beautiful white sand and is surrounded by huge granite boulders and turquoise water. The drive is 50 mins including the time through the park. Go prepared - hat, sun screen, bug spray, water, rain jacket, jumper and fully charged mobile.
  • Yanakie – on the way to Wilsons Prom. Has a nice general store and a pizza restaurant.
